PGCA Kicks Off 2026 July 4th Parade Campaign with New Website, Open Registration, and Community Outreach

SACRAMENTO, CA — The Pocket Greenhaven Community Association (PGCA) today officially kicks off the 2026 Pocket Greenhaven July 4th Parade season with the launch of a new website, the opening of parade entry and volunteer registration, and a community-wide outreach campaign to make this year's celebration the biggest and best yet.

The annual parade — one of Sacramento's most beloved neighborhood traditions — is presented by District 7 Councilmember Rick Jennings, hosted by the PGCA, and sponsored by Nugget Market.

Registration Now Open

Parade entry registration and volunteer sign-ups are fully online at july4thpocketparade.com. Participants can register their float, vehicle, walking group, or organization, sign the required liability waiver electronically, and receive instant confirmation — all from their phone or computer.

Registration deadline is June 22nd. No on-site or walk-up entries will be accepted.

Volunteers are also needed for setup, route marshaling, check-in, and cleanup. Sign up at july4thpocketparade.com/registration-forms-waiver/volunteer.

New Website Launch

The new july4thpocketparade.com replaces the previous site with a modern, mobile-friendly experience featuring:

  • Live Countdown to parade day
  • Parade Gallery — Over 80 photos from 2022, 2023, and 2024, filterable by year
  • Online Registration with integrated liability waivers
  • Sponsors & Community Partners — showcasing the local businesses that make this event possible
  • Road Closure Information — detailed route and closure maps
  • Email Updates — subscribe for parade news, registration deadlines, and road closure alerts

Community Outreach Campaign

The PGCA is reaching out across the Pocket Greenhaven neighborhood through social media, local business partnerships, and community channels to spread the word about this year's parade. Residents are encouraged to follow @july4thpocketparade on Instagram for behind-the-scenes updates and to share the news with neighbors.

"This year we're doing more than just putting on a parade — we're building a campaign around it. The new website, the streamlined registration, the outreach to local businesses and families — it's all about making sure every corner of Pocket Greenhaven feels invited and included. The Fourth of July parade is a major milestone every year for this community, and we want 2026 to be a year that everyone remembers."

Zane Rice, Pocket Greenhaven Community Association

"The Pocket Greenhaven July 4th Parade is a Sacramento tradition that Councilmember Jennings is proud to present year after year. It brings together families, veterans, local organizations, and businesses in a celebration of community and patriotism. The new website and open registration make it easier than ever for residents to participate, and we encourage everyone in District 7 to get involved — whether that's marching in the parade, volunteering, or simply lining the route with your family on the Fourth."

Dennis Rogers, Chief of Staff, Councilmember Rick Jennings
